Strategic Air Command Museum
For the first time, Earl and I went on one of the IPMS tours, this one to the SAC Museum. I had looked it up prior to the trip and it looked really interesting, with a lot of aircraft that we had not previously seen. And they were going to feed us BBQ as well, so it sounded like a nice diversion for a Thursday evening. Below you’ll find a gallery of just over 200 photos. They’re mostly in the order of how we viewed the planes, but some may be mixed up as I might have seen something interesting on a plane I’d already photographed. I don’t have time to caption all of them, so hopefully it’ll be fairly obvious. Enjoy!
IPMS Nationals in Omaha
Earl and I arrived in Omaha around noon on Wednesday. We got our registration packet, placed our models, and of course hit the vendor rooms. The trip up was mostly uneventful, with the only problem happening right outside of St. Louis, where we were stuck in traffic for about 2 hours, moving only 3 miles in the process.
As usual, I’ll be posting photos of all of the models, but here’s a quick taste of what was on the tables on Thursday morning. There’s already some fantastic work on display. Let everyone know that photos will be posted here. I’m going to try to have all of them posted be the end of this coming weekend.
2016 Nationals – Best in Show
The Judges Best in Show was a diorama, ‘Victory and Contempt.” The Popular Best of Show was a group build, Korean Air Power.
